touraine Methode Traditionelle
Four Generations of winemaking know-how & Old vine magic
Jean-Francois Merieau has some enviable old-vine vineyards in St Julien de Chedon, Touraine. Sustainably managed, the grapes are hand harvested, wild fermented and the reds see a long maceration before ageing in large old oak barrels. The Methode Traditionelle is single vintage, aged for 2 years on lees to give a complex and refined style. Single-vineyard Malbec is plush and forest-fruited, while the Sauvignon Blanc, planted on silex soils, is textured and linear.
